[ She leans in and stops just short of contact. If he wants it, he'll have to come and get it. ]

[ Her lips are soft and part slightly at his touch. She's being careful not to push too hard too fast and scare him off.

Her fingers curl lightly against the front of his shirt, and she slides one hand up to rest on the back of his neck. Don't run away.

Someone in the bar cheers "Yeah!" ]

[that's probably best, if his behavior so far is any indication. but he seems to be responding well enough to this, lightly touching her cheek with one hand

[ Her fingers slide gently through his hair and she moves closer, trying to coax the kiss deeper. It's just a little tongue don't freak out!!

[Robert is now the envy of everyone at the bar. positionwise, at least, because frankly everyone and their brother who's noticed is convinced that A) they'd be much more impressive B) they wouldn't have waited nearly as long to 'concede' to makeout

he does not freak out. he does, however, make a confused little 'hnh?' as that tongue slips in, fingers curling against her cheek. he automatically parts to let it in, brushing his own against it.

[ Well, she tastes like scotch at the moment, so that could be why.

She makes a small hum of encouragement as their tongues touch and she continues exploring his mouth. Softly. Slowly. But most important of all, thoroughly. Her fingers tangle in his hair and the other hand clutches his shirt, holding him close.

When she does pull away, it's with a slow drag of teeth over his lower lip, and she's still close enough that her lips brush his when she speaks. ]

[getting drunk on Harley is probably not the best of ideas, but he is loosening up. it could be the alcohol, it could simply getting used to the kiss, but there's a slow relaxation and stroking of her cheek as he lets her lead. he responds, but it's more to allow her what access she's after and to make few curious probes of his own.

by the time she pulls away, it goes without saying he's a bit flushed. that.

and all he can think of is to make a small amused sound, lips quirking upwards in a smile]

[ She slides her arms around his shoulders and links her fingers behind his back, resting comfortably against him. ]

[ She gives him another kiss, soft and sweet, where the corner of his mouth turns up. ]

[Robert himself lets his free hand come to a rest by her hip, chuckling good-naturedly as he gives her a small nuzzle.] I prefer kabuki, but I'm no stranger to his work on stage.

[he gives her cheek a small pat, then begins to pull his hands away, glancing towards the rest of the bar. they may be at the end corner, but they're still in public, for god's sake, and even if he's getting more comfortable...there's still a degree of awkwardness that can only be suppressed for so long.

especially since he's still trying to figure out what that comfort means. he's quite certain Harley isn't a Juliet, at least.]

My personal preference is actually Commedia dell'arte. Kabuki is the one with the, uh ... That real intense make up, right? I've never actually seen it.

It's not for everyone. Stock characters, slapstick... Real simple stuff. Those Punch and Judy puppet shows came from those roots.
