[ She catches his wrist and leads him to the same quiet end of the bar they used last time. ]

Probably not, but I'll give it a shot. [he'll most certainly try and flag down the bartender while they're on the way - as he said, he's not planning on getting quite as drunk, but he's certainly going to start with a scotch at least to brace him after the day's events.]

Soooo... [ She nudges his knee with hers and leans against his side. ] What happened?

Well, calling me up for drinks on a Thursday night? Kinda transparent. Wish I could believe you just wanted to see me that much, but ... [ She shrugs. ]

[he looks at her a long moment...then sighs, rubbing the corner of his eye for a moment] I do consider you a friend, and I do owe you some drinks, among other things.

But after another student coming in, I decided to find an excuse for your company sooner than later.

[ Yeah. Yeah, she went there. If he's going to keep giving her lip -- the sass kind, not the smooch kind -- then she isn't going to just sit there and take it forever. ]

They're only so sure, though Hiro described it like a fog in his head. Some sort of influence, but...it brings up more questions than it answers.

Yeah, that's ... Not super helpful. Has he been taking medication? Or not taking it? There's a million different things that could do it.

[and he's quiet a moment, running a finger around the edge of the glass, looking in to the liquid before back up towards Harley and lowering his voice]

I trust you, so I'm going to tell you something, but it doesn't leave the two of us. Mainly because I think he's just looking for someone to blame, and it doesn't make any sense but...he was seeing Doctor Crane. And he's insistent that he had something to do with it.

Ugh! Crane! I'm sick to death of that man.

[ She taps her fingernails against the side of her glass, frowning at the counter. ]

Look, just because it doesn't make sense, don't discount it outright. People are a lot more intuitive than we get credit for. Especially when it comes to threats.

[ And then she brightens up again. ]

I have a lot of books about it, if you want to read up on the subject!

[he'll take another sip, letting it sit in his mouth before swallowing]

I appreciate that. I never understood that kind of science- give me robots over people any day. [he'll accept the change - after all, he came here to be distracted, and mulling over it all doesn't really help with that]

Hmm. [ She arches a brow and gives him a slow, considering, hungry look. ] Agree to disagree.

[ She leans in at that, pressing against his side and waggling her eyebrows ridiculously. Heyyyy. ]

[yeah, he kind of asked for that, didn't he. but he laughs a bit again, and reaches to put his arm around her]

I still don't know what you think you're going to get out of this. Well, I have an idea, but I just hope you're not expecting anything life-shattering.
